Random Daily Shot, 041-11 QR Code For The New Lakewood Loon

Hello there. How many of you are aware of QR Codes?  Yes, I know that this isn't an image that is a view of anything, but what is it? It's a calling card. There are apps for mobile (wiki) phones that if you take a picture of a QR code it will give you a URL or some other information that the creator of the QR code as put in it. Check out the  QR Code Wiki for more info about what they do if you're interested.

In the Lakewood area there is a Liquor Store on the corner of 117th and Madison that has one on their sign,  I can't recall the name of the place but I do know that they've got the QR code. - I don't know what good it does them, or what the long term effects or usefulness of QR codes are, but I do find them interesting.

The Above code is for the Mobile Version of the new Blog that I'm creating to replace this one, and I need to build up some "Branding" for it. :)

And if you want to "SCAN" it you can DL the above image and go to
http://zxing.org/w/decode.jspx  and upload the image for the information that is embedded into the code.
“You now have to decide what 'image' you want for your brand. Image means personality. Products, like people, have personalities, and they can make or break them in the market place.”

  2. How enlightening! Technology is getting a little frightening, though. The wine store is called North Coast Wine & Beer.

  3. Gianni, Thanks. :) I go past it a lot, but never had a need to stop in. Why do you find Technology Frighting? I find some of the uses of it, and the people that use it to be more frightening then the tools themselves. I think that the more one understands the tool(s) the less frighting they should be. ? Consider a Gun or Bow and Arrow. In the hands of the right people, you're happy that they've got them, in the wrong people using them the wrong way, it IS scary.

Lester, I've used them, a couple of times, and really, what I find wrong with QR codes or any bar code for that matter is that I'm not really motivated to find out what they say. That's why I put what it WAS, The QR Code, and the link to what it goes to. I've got some ideas on how they could be put to use, but that'll go for another post if I get around to it, or maybe a Podcast.
