A Belated "Happy Birthday" to Edison...

Google's "Edison" Doodle

Ahh, I missed out on the fact that yesterday Feb 11, was Thomas Alva Edison's Birthday.  So, I'm posting this here, on the bog to be abandoned,  As a fond Farewell.  Google reminded me of the fact with their fancy little doodle, something that I like.

If you happen to find yourself here, on Randomized Radio's Randomized Ramblings... Please,  Go to http://www/lakewoodloon.com and check out my More Ohio, Local centered blog.  It's still me posting over there... Just trying something slightly new.  I've got the same voices in my head, so if you liked hearing from them here, you'll still here them over there..

Daily Random Shot, 040-11, A Chilly re-View

Welp, here's the shot of the same spot of the previous shot.  Not really impressive, but what the heck. It's certainly cooler looking.  Nothing exciting really.

And here's some really long icicles.  There's a lot of them building up. One of the neater looking, and dangerous things, that winter has to offer..

“Whether the eave-drops fall
Heard only in the trances of the blast,
Or if the secret ministry of frost
Shall hang them up in silent icicles,
Quietly shining to the quiet moon.”
 -Samuel Taylor Coleridge

FYI, I'll be pulling the plug, or rather, not updating, this blog come this weekend, Feb 12th, 2011 and updating things over on my new blog, Lakewood Loon... http://www.lakewoodloon.com/

Thanks, and I will be adding more interesting things to it, and trying to build it's "Karma" vs this one.

Thanks,
Randy

Daily Random Shot 039 11, A Warmer View

This is the place I'm headed to for Wed. I'll shoot one from there Thur with the current weather status. - I was just thinking that I was missing spring and fall. And why is it that we seem to only get a little of those two seasons and almost 6 months of summer and 6 months out of winter?

A change in the weather is sufficient to recreate the world and ourselves.
Marcel Proust

I'm still trying to decide if I want to keep the Randomized site up, or just move to the site LakewoodLoon.com that I picked up.  I guess the "daily" posts could be:

Loon Views?
Loon with a View?
Loony Views?
Looner Shot?
Daily Loony?

Suggestions?

Daily Random Shot 038-11, Hash Brown Casserole - Vegetarian Version.

This recipe ought to meet or beat your expectations of what Cracker Barrel serves.  :)  There are other variations of this on line, that call for two pounds of Hash Browns, and they call for Cream of Chicken Soup. - I was raised a few years of my life as a Vegetarian, and have no problems with a meal that it meatless. But in my humble opinion, a nice ham steak with some biscuits and veggies would round this meal out nicely.

1 lbs Frozen Hash Browns
1/4 cup Butter, melted  maybe  a little less.
1 (10 1/4 ounce) can Cream of Mushroom Soup
1/2 pint French Onion Dip.
1 Medium Onion, peeled and chopped
2 cups Grated Cheese, Colby Jack Mix Mostly for mixing into the dish. I like to top it with some Cheddar.  The Grated 8 oz packages of cheese are two cups, FWIW.
A few good Dash's of Salt and Pepper

1.Preheat oven to 350°F and use your favorite treatment to grease an 11 x 14 baking dish with something to make it easier to get crusty stuff off of the pan. I like Butter, myself.

2. I like to melt the butter in the dish on the stove, that covers the greasing of the pan job.  Then add the chopped onion,  Can of Soup, and French Onion Dip. Then mix in the Hash Browns, and cheese. Save some of the cheese to top the dish the last 10 or 15 mins prior to being done. OR, use some extra Cheddar Cheese. I  think that the more cheese there is the better.

3. Mix the above ingredients together, place in prepared pan and bake
for 45 minutes or until brown on top.

ENJOY!!!

You can't put to much cheese on anything
