I didn't try to tap on to many people's shoulders for this one, but I AM glad for the few who did respond. :)
Please take note, that I did make up a separate Posterous site just for the RSSTQ's.

Linc Fessenden Wish I could get my family to disconnect from cable tv. It's complete trash and only shows humanity at their worst anymore. I get Netflicks too, though, and I quite like it. Didn't take me long to upgrade to the 3 at a time deal :-) T.J. W I often disconnect, which as a podcaster it can be hard to juggle a full social life as well as the shows I do weekly.

Have you ever wondered, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, WHY do we have deficits?

These aren't all from the same day, but they are from the past week, I went out there more then once this week.
First one is of the lighthouse from today, the second one is from earlier this week... And the last one is just a simple one of going down the road... I hope that, first the Google Map link that I've put in here works, and second that you can move around and see the old wooden ship down by the water's edge. - There's some great view that are hard to get when on the road. There's even more cool shots of the ice and such if one were to be able to stop and get a decent shot of them....
Here's the Google Map of the HWY....

XSANE image Scanning. \ Broadcom and Ubuntu 9.10 Netbook Remix

I figured out a couple things today.
First and simplest thing that I found out was, to use the Xsane image scanning utility, I was sorta loosing my mind as to why it didn't want update the file names. from out.pnm to out1.pmn The default setting is set to home/out.png or home/out.pnm something like that. Well, it will keep on using the name out.pnm so you have to go and change it, not a horrible issue, but an annoying one none the less. Well, Viola! if you make sure that there are a couple of 00 digits there for it to work with, it will add to them, so if you have it set to the default of 3, I think it is, you need to name the first file's filename to out000.png or out000.pnm. Anded some 00's and it worked like I wanted it to. :)
Second, and a little more frustrating was with Ubuntu Netbook Remix 9.10 and my HP Mini note Netbook. It has a Broadcom WiFi Chip, and the HP doesn't have a Network Adapter. USB or Wifi are the only access ports on the machine. Granted USB can do get ya more, such as hooking up a USB WiFi adapter, as I did, and making the Chipset Active, but then it dropped it, or wouldn't keep it set, as it HAD a live wifi connection. I had gotten it up and running with a USB network cable with my old router that had a USB connection to the network. That worked well. - But this time, I lacked that option. So. I figured, why not just fiddle around with things and see what happens. So, I grabbed the 4gig SD card out that was setup with everything as I wanted, but lacked the drive space, and grabbed the 8gig SD card and connected both to my "real" laptop (running an instance of Karmic, BTW) and deleted everything on the 8gig card with GParted, then "Cut" + "Pasted" the partition to the freshly empty drive. - And it worked. :)
Ok, Back to scanning some old pics of life back in the Air Force for my USAF Facebook buds...

Randy's Silly or Simple Tweet Question: Sorry if it seems a bit light. I normally pull the replies and put them into a draft email as I get them, but this week was a little different. :)
I got this:

I don't generally follow recipes exactly but more as a guide or for ideas.and there was a little discssion on FaceBook, to my post, but it had nothing to do with the question... LOL... Oh well. And if there were other posts. I certainly missed them :(

#RSSTQ No.8 Do you take time to "Disconnect" from the digital noise? How Often?
I've signed up for the 8 buck Netflix deal, as we don't have Cable, I just can't see paying 45 bucks a month for something that I might use once or twice a week. - Netflix can fill that bill for now, for us. But, being able to veg in front of the TV or with a Video game. OR... with a deck of UNO cards at the kitchen table with family and friends. Is something that I don't do all that often, and I ought to. I suppose that when one says that they disconnect, it can be of varying degrees, and types. Turning off the phone, or muting it, not logging onto the computer, letting the email basket fill up and then deleting it all...
With the move and not being online, I thought that I was going to go through some kind of mental melt down. But instead, I found some peace and quite with card board boxes that needed to be sorted and moved around... If it weren't for the stairs, it would have been an even better time. :)

Well, since I didn't do this right... and I've now been called a Slacker by @DriverGeoff , and @amishtrucker, a Kindred Open Source Ubuntu Linux User, who gave up on Windows, and doesn't see the point of Apple Computers either. So here's my pictures, as I was thinking of #VFTC and din't want to really post them while going down the road with my BBry, I could but it's a dumb thing to do.
These are pictures along I-71 in Ohio North of Columbus. Around the 140-150 Mile Markers.....
This First one make me think the dude is waiting for the ice to crack so he can put his boat in the water..
The Second two are just of houses along the way, that didn't quite get captured as well as I would have liked. Something about over a mile a minute, and the speed, or lack of speed, of the digital cameras... :)

Heck, I don't know why I'm making this a posterous post, but I figured I'd stick one up here for now. Just got online last night, so there's not much going with my #RSSTQ posts.. I just got Janet hooked up with a Google Voice number. And she's playing around with it. I should do the same with mine. (Doh!) To much to do, and never ever enough time to fiddle fart around with it all. :P
